It all started
It was a cheap point-and-shoot film camera, but for me, it opened up the world. I started considering the way I viewed life through the lens. What a beautiful thing!
Technically the Barbies were the first models, but could we skip that part? Yeah, thanks. Next, it was my siblings.
Between forcing my siblings to model for me and consistently flipping through the pages of my dad's office supply catalogs (dreaming of one day owning a business), I guess you could say it was meant to be...
It wasn't until I was about to become a momma that it hit me -
Because that's the thing about photography -
when you know there are moments on the line -
moments you never want to forget,
It's the way we get to freeze time,
make a memory immortal.
So I embarked on the journey of teaching myself everything I could about the art of photography. John was with me through it all - researching lenses, cameras, poses, and lighting. I taught him everything I knew, and the rest we have learned together.
In 2016, we were able to retire him from his teaching job, and it’s been our full-time job together ever since. We love doing life together, and we love doing this business together.
Now we’ve shot over 200 weddings, and we’re still going strong.
When we’re not photographing weddings of our dream clients, you can find us adventuring on our 20-acre hobby farm, road-tripping to a beautiful, remote place where we can relax as a family, or renovating our 100-year-old farmhouse.
We love slow food, strong coffee (or bourbon), game nights with our kids, and date nights out together.
Meet the Team
My new hobby is harvesting wood off our land for our woodburning stove
(and maybe a wood-burning sauna sometime soon).
I'm living my dream of being an entrepreneur with my wife.
Next animal for the hobby farm? Scottish Highlander!
I enjoy road trips and adventures with my pup, Kal.
I love to create things - like my dining room bar
(and the cocktails that go with it).
I share the title of "youngest" in my family with my twin sister.
My favorite job is being a wife & momma ♥
I'm the oldest of 5 siblings (← one of whom is Garret!)
I love to garden, but unfortunately, I'm more successful
at killing plants than keeping them alive. *shrug*
