Brittany and Kyle’s Backyard Lakeside Wedding

This lakeside wedding day was the most beautiful wedding. The details of the day were impeccable. And joy abounded. Brittany and Kyle threw a party that will be remembered by their friends and family for many years to come.

How They Met

They met in med school. They were at a party together, and Kyle, in an attempt to be funny, called Brittany a nickname she hated. She decided she strongly disliked him. Luckily, he got a second chance when they both wanted to study anatomy with their friend Kevin for their first med school exam.

The Proposal

From Brittany: “I actually had a hunch I was going to be proposed to that weekend. We have very busy and conflicting schedules – so the weekend just made sense. When it got to be Saturday night, I was a little sad because I figured it wasn’t going to happen anymore at that point. We had plans to go over to a friends house for a BBQ. This was a very casual event, and we didn’t need to be on time. So I wanted to go spend some time on our roof before it happened and have a drink.

Kyle was adamant that we had to leave the house because he didn’t want to be late. He ultimately put my hand on his pocket, where I felt a ring box and exclaimed “REALLY?!” I was in such a daze from there on out.

He still drove me to the place where he had planned the proposal and had a romantic dinner planned afterwards. There were some antics along the way – as there always are with us. But It was very special :)”

From Kyle: “I had organized a party at our friend’s house. She didn’t know that it was actually an engagement party. Meanwhile I had made reservations for dinner. Brittany had wanted to have a drink on our roof and show up a little later to the party. In order to get to our dinner reservation on time I had to tell her that we weren’t going to the party.

She had put it together and knew what was happening, and I essentially point-blank said we were going for me to propose. We then went to Reynolda Gardens (a nice arboretum nearby). We walked around there and I started to propose.

Right as I was about to get down on one knee we were interrupted by a staff member at the gardens who told us we had to move because we were technically in a closed off area for a wedding. We then walked to a nearby bench where I finished proposing. We then went to dinner and celebrated with our friends afterwards.”
