When I first met Carly and we sat over our respective cups of coffee, it didn’t take long to learn that she and Matt are special people. Both of them share amazing brains: Carly is an engineer, and Matt is a financial analyst. But they also have an amazing right side of the brain as well: Carly is a writer, and Matt, a musician. I love how all of these elements and parts of their personalities were emphasized in their wedding day details. From the book theme running throughout the decor to the way Matt surprised Carly with a love song that he played on the piano (AH-mazing!), their unique personalities and talents were present everywhere through their wedding.
Of course the weather chose to rain, as has been the case with all of our spring weddings this year; but Carly & Matt’s venue, the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center, was a beautiful place to be on a rainy day. There were several beautiful places to photograph them, and they all stayed dry! Once the reception began, there were plentiful surprises for Carly. Unknown to her, Matt and one of his groomsman had some musical numbers planned! Matt surprised Carly with an amazing piano performance to “Thinking Out Loud.” (It was amazing!) And then Matt’s groomsman started off the speeches with a pretty incredible impersonation of Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World.”
In all, it was an amazing and joyful day. I loved seeing the genuine smiles from Carly & Matt as they danced through their day, soaking in every moment.
Congrats, Carly & Matt! May these few favorites bring back all the smiles and laughter from your wedding day!
