Emily + Matt

Emily and Matt are two of the kindest souls you could meet, and we’re so happy that they’ve found each other to share life with! Their Bottle House 42 wedding day was hosted at the peak of October beauty in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Everything about their day was spectacular! From the color of the trees to the detail throughout the day, there was no limit to the touching and beautiful moments we witnessed.

The Proposal

At the end of a busy weekend, Matt said his parents wanted to come down and meet us for dinner on Sunday evening at a restaurant in the 3rd ward. He suggested we walk there through lakeshore park, something we do quite frequently together. (Little did I know that telling me we were going to dinner was his way to get me into the park in something a little cuter than sweatpants!) As we were rounding the corner near discovery world, Matt dropped back a little bit, and all of a sudden I heard “Hey, Em.” When I turned around, I could see on his face what was about to happen, and was so excited. He got down on one knee, forgot most of what he was going to say (I imagine because he was so nervous), and asked me to marry him! Of course, I said yes!

We had the joy of meeting Emily and Matt right after they got engaged. It was during that time that Emily’s brother, Jon, married Alison. While we spent an amazing day with Alison and Jon, we were able to observe Emily and Matt’s relationship from a distance. They are absolutely adorable together: kind, sweet, smart, and full of joy. Words can’t describe the joy we felt when they hired us to capture their wedding day memories!
