HEY, IT'S EMILY

Sarah & Michael
Harvest Moon Pond Wedding

Sarah and Michael had the most beautiful Harvest Moon Pond wedding day. The clouds textured the skies, and the sun broke through right in the middle of their wedding ceremony, giving them a little sunshine blessing for their big day.

We loved enjoying the many beautiful spaces of Harvest Moon Pond. And you’ll definitely want to peek at Sarah and Michael’s amazing SUNSET! (It was stunning!)

Sarah and Michael met in college. They were next-door neighbors, so it just so happened that one night Sarah and her roommates decided to introduce themselves to Michael and his roommates. Michael couldn’t take his eyes off Sarah. They chatted throughout the entire evening, and it didn’t take long for them to take the next step. (To the chagrin of Michael’s best man, who recalled during his speech how he warned Michael against it… just in case it ruined the neighborly friendship they all had.) Needless to say, it all worked out!

The Proposal

Michael’s View:

We decided to take a trip to the Smokey Mountains to celebrate our anniversary, and I was a nervous individual trying to figure out how I was going to get this ring through security without getting caught… (and not having Sarah find it since we were sharing suitcases)! However, everything worked out well. I definitely wanted to make sure I asked on the first day we were there so we could celebrate the weekend. We hiked about a 1.5-mile trail to a waterfall, and I found a private intimate spot to ask her to marry me.

Sarah’s View:

Michael and I decided to take a trip to the Smoky Mountains to celebrate our 5-year anniversary in lieu of gifts. Our plan was to enjoy a long weekend hiking and exploring the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. When we first landed, we were unable to check into our Airbnb so we went hiking instead. We started an easy hike up to Laurel Falls in the National Park. Once we reached the falls we enjoyed the view, took a picture, and started the trek back as it was very crowded. As we started to trek back, I decided to do a little rock climbing to get down to the river at the bottom of the falls. Once we got down we were enjoying the view and I turned around to Michael down on his knee. I honestly thought he fell with how rocky the area was… but then I saw he was holding a ring!! I then asked if this was a prank (he had been teasing me about proposing for the previous year leading up to this trip). Of course, I said Yes! (And a very nice couple offered to take our picture for us.) We then got to enjoy the rest of our trip as each other’s fiance.
