We have such a huge blog post for you! This was such an amazing, festive, joyous day for Emily & Rahul at their Discovery World wedding. The day began for us at the venue where we experienced our first Indian ceremony; it was so much fun! The festive Baraat, which is the celebration of the groom, was filled with some amazing music and dancing. We loved watching the ways they prepared for and celebrated the Indian ceremony.

So much of the first part of the day was new to us. We watched with joy & wonder at the various parts of the ceremony, and the priest did a great job outlining the meaning in each part. Following the Indian ceremony, friends and family gathered for a delicious lunch (yum!), and then we captured photos of friends and family in their traditional Indian attire.

Afterward, we went to the hotel where Emily & Rahul were getting ready for the second part of their wedding day (and their second wedding ceremony)! It was beautiful to witness both parts of their day, and we loved how they incorporated the faith traditions of both Emily and Rahul.

Emily & Rahul met in Michigan. And as we learned from family & friends during the wedding day, Emily was just about to move to Milwaukee at the time she met Rahul. She was of course incredibly disappointed that she was about to move RIGHT when she met this amazing man! As the story goes, however, Rahul also saw something incredibly special in Emily; and he wasn’t about to let a move interfere with their potential future. A few months later, he came to Milwaukee as well; and the rest is history!

Emily & Rahul’s day was characterized by a great sense of family and close friends. The guests who came, the friends and family who stood beside them, were all selflessly thrilled to celebrate Emily & Rahul’s marriage (in two ways, too)!! 🙂 The Christian ceremony in the Pilot House of Discovery World was beautifully officiated and incredibly meaningful. Following that, we were thrilled to grab a gorgeous sunset session overlooking the skyline of Milwaukee. (Oh that golden light!)

The entire day was quite unforgettable. With the party that lasted into the night, views of a stunning moon, and a breathtaking city skyline, Emily & Rahul hosted the perfect celebration of their love.
