Sarah & Austin
An Italian Community Center Wedding
Where do we start with these two and their wedding day? In all honesty, we’ve been looking forward to this day for a long time! We met Sarah and Austin at Sarah’s brother’s wedding, so it was incredibly sweet and extra special for us to be a part of this amazing day. Every single moment from this day was perfectly planned and executed. It was some kind of miracle that time actually went at a perfect pace for their entire day, allowing them to soak in each and every moment. And they did! It was apparent that, for as long as Sarah & Austin had been looking forward to this day, they made every effort to live in each moment and infuse them into memory.
Sarah & Austin met in high school when Sarah thought Austin so super cute (and Austin shared the sentiment). When he started hanging out by her locker, Sarah hoped it was because of her. It was, and Austin convinced Sarah to give him her number, after which they didn’t stop talking. 🙂 They dated through high school and through the transition to college, proving that their relationship was ready and willing to go the distance. It was on a trip to one of their favorite places, Arizona, that Austin planned to ask Sarah to marry him. Sarah’s maid of honor lives in Arizona, so she was in on the whole plan. After years of building their relationship and preparing for their future, Austin proposed to Sarah overlooking the Grand Canyon. (On April Fool’s Day, no less!) 😉
Fast forward back to Sarah & Austin’s Italian Community Center wedding day. The day started at the Kimpton Journeyman Hotel (one of our favorite getting ready spaces, by the way). These getting ready moments were filled with joy and emotion and set the tone for the whole day. Sarah was beaming with pure joy from the start of the day all the way to the end, and Austin had calm and steady happiness that emanated from him throughout the day. With the first look in Catalano Square in the midst of one of the many summer festivals, Sarah & Austin started their celebration together.
We loved the places they chose for pictures, from the alleyway of the Third Ward to the Hoan Bridge. The day was bright and sunny, and we’re grateful for this wedding party for all the squinting they had to endure! 😉 The pictures were worth it! After photos, we headed to the Italian Community Center to make everything official. The ceremony was sweet and personal, being officiated by a special family friend. Again, the joy these two had was so apparent! I just loved the look on their faces as they were pronounced HUSBAND and WIFE!
Then the celebrations commenced! There was a relaxing cocktail hour, a delicious dinner, sweet speeches from fathers and friends, and (of course) THE epic dance party! We love how much these two love to dance. Everything about Sarah and Austin, their love, and their wedding day, was incredibly sweet. Their day was overflowing with joy, and I can’t help smiling any time I look at these pictures. Making things even more sweet, however, was the fact that we had the pleasure of knowing some of their friends and family prior to the wedding. When we got ready to leave at the end of the night, Sarah’s mom said, “It’s almost like you’re part of the family.” And OH, that’s the sweetest feeling!
So Sarah & Austin, congratulations on this next part of your journey together! We are so thankful to have been a part of your special day, and we hope you cherish these moments the same way you soaked them up on your wedding day. We love you!
