Kelsey and Cody’s wedding at The Pritzlaff
Kelsey and Cody’s Milwaukee wedding day, celebrated at The Pritzlaff, was a sun-drenched day with the most beautiful summer weather. The day was effortless: Kelsey and Cody were relaxed and filled with joy because their big day had finally arrived.
The Proposal
From Kelsey: “He lied about going to a Bucks game with his sister and mom. They were coming down for the night for the “game”. We went to the third ward to get brunch beforehand and because of unexpected traffic, we were running a little behind.
We parked about 6 blocks from the Milwaukee river so he was booking it there because he wanted to show his mom and sister before brunch. I tried telling him we could do it after so we weren’t late, but he said we’d have enough time.
We got to the river and while we were looking out, he pointed below where my mom and sister were standing. My stomach dropped immediately. And I saw my dad, brother-in-law, and niece walk up too. We were doing introductions and whatnot. And finally, when Cody had a second and got my attention, I turned and he was down on a knee and asked me to marry him.“
From Cody who knew he wanted to propose with both of their families present: “I told her months in advance that my mom and sister were coming down for a Bucks game since they had never gone, and that we’d show them around town. So we went down to the Third Ward to check things out and have lunch, I had her family waiting for us along the river to surprise her and to propose in front of them. She was completely surprised.”

Overall, Kelsey and Cody are so easygoing, and they love each other so deeply. They were super relaxed on their wedding day, just excited to be getting married and celebrating with their friends and family. They took extra time on their wedding day to soak up the moments (spending a few minutes chatting and saying HI after their first look as well as enjoying a few quiet moments on the Pritzlaff rooftop at sunset.) We really loved that they did that.
