Leighann + Sam
Elegant St James 1868 Wedding
Introducing Leighann and Sam’s Elegant St James 1868 wedding day!
Sam and Leighann met at one of Sam’s adult soccer league games. Sam saw the cutest dog and her owner on the sideline. After Leighann gathered the courage to message him on Instagram, they had their first official date. During her speech, Leighann’s matron of honor joked that it was love at first sight when Sam saw Leighann’s dog, Minka. And the rest is history. Of course, it was Leighann who *really* stole his heart, and after he told her he loved her outside their favorite wing spots, Leighann knew this was it.
The Proposal:
“Sam asked me two days prior if I wanted to have a picnic on Saturday before my girls’ night I had planned with some friends. I of course said yes because I love it when Sam plans different things to do on weekends in the city. Come Saturday morning we worked out together, then enjoyed a coffee outside before getting ready for the day. In the back of my mind, I thought “What if Sam proposes to me on the picnic and then I can celebrate with my girlfriends later that evening during girls’ night,” but I did not actually think it would happen… and definitely not the way it did.
We start walking down to Veteran’s Park with all our picnic stuff and our dog Minka. As we get closer I notice a blanket with flowers, champagne, and dessert all around it. Before I had a chance to react Sam said let’s go this way, and then I saw my two best friends, Briana and Hannah, pop up to start recording and taking photos.
Sam got down on one knee, pulled the ring out, and said some sweet words. He paused and was waiting for an answer, but he never actually asked to marry me! I said, “You haven’t asked me yet!” Then he asked and I of course said yes! The rest of the day we spent celebrating with our parents and then it ended with a surprise engagement party back at our apartment with all our friends and family! Sam truly thought of everything and really showed how well he knows me and made it the perfect day for us.”
Sam and Leighann planned an iconic Milwaukee wedding day, celebrating at the beautiful St. James 1868. With the most stunning weather to enjoy the late fall season, Leighann and Sam soaked up the sunshine and all the amazing moments of their day. It was the perfect way to end our wedding season, and we’re so excited to share this peek at their St James 1868 wedding day!
