Nicole & John | Madison Club
Nicole & John’s Madison Club winter wedding was filled with so many personal touches and family heirlooms. Their wedding day was cold, as is expected in Wisconsin during the month of December. Yet through the chill in the air and the expectation of Christmas only two days away, there was an indescribable warmth and beauty to Nicole & John’s Madison Club winter wedding day. Nicole knitted her own shawl and wore a vintage fur, both of which were stunning touches to her wedding day beauty. Each and every detail (from the Christmas-themed invitations to the evergreen-infused florals by daffodil*parker, the heirloom engagement ring and ring box, and the beautiful pearls Nicole wore) not only added beauty, but carried with it meaning and purpose. There’s nothing as exciting as photographing beautiful details like these that are filled with meaning and memories.
Nicole & John met in Madison through John’s sister, Lane. With a group of close friends, they soon became friends and then became more. The way Nicole & John looked at each other all day long was more beautiful than any of the perfect decorations or details. Their friendship and love is what it’s all about for us; the fuel that keeps us moving. It was beautiful to witness their admiration and joy during their perfect winter wedding day.
The Madison Club was stunning. With gorgeous decorations filling the entire building, the ambiance was filled with Christmas cheer. Nicole & John’s wedding party braved the chilled temperatures for a brisk walk to the Capitol, and it was well worth it. Having the historic Capitol building just a couple blocks away made for even more iconic Madison wedding photos. (We even had a surprise visit from the Madison Fire Department! They pulled up the fire truck right in front of the Capitol so we could grab some amazing images. Nicole & John’s wedding colors were the perfect match for the fire-red fire truck.)
Their wedding ceremony took place in the Monona Terrace’s Grand Terrace room overlooking beautiful Lake Monona at sunset. With a touching personalized ceremony, written by Nicole as her vow to John, and handwritten vows from John to Nicole, it was an incredibly special ceremony; and the rooftop of the Monona Terrace was the perfect place to snatch up that last bit of winter light as the sun set over the buildings of Madison.
With many more beautiful moments, including John dancing with his adorable grandmother, the day was a complete joy from start to finish. So much time and love were poured into their wedding day details, and we were honored to be there to document it. Enjoy these favorites from their Madison Club winter wedding.
