Kristin & David | Mke Public Market Wedding
Kristin & David’s Milwaukee Public Market wedding was one for the books. Everything from their wedding day was unique and personal. You could tell they spent so much time and energy making their wedding day meaningful for both themselves and their guests. We began the day with David at the Kimpton Journeyman Hotel, where he was getting dressed in the coolest Vans shoes and hand-made leather suspenders. The gifts he and Kristin picked out for their groomsmen and bridesmaids were THE neatest pieces of art, each one selected specifically for each person. It was one of the most thoughtful wedding gifts we have experienced!
After David was dressed and ready to see his bride, we headed to the Iron Horse Hotel for finishing touches with Kristin and her girls. Both Kristin and David are beautiful humans who are so fun to photograph. We loved the little movements and candid captures during their getting-ready moments. Kristin’s dress was heart-stoppingly beautiful! (David definitely thought so too when they had their first look at the Iron Horse Hotel library!) Before they saw each other, however, David had one more paper with a question mark, symbolic of his epic proposal!
We were so fortunate to have missed almost all of the rain on Saturday. I was literally praying that the rain would stay away as long as possible during our wedding party photos between the Iron Horse and Redline where their ceremony was held. Thankfully, we got just about everything we needed before the rain really began. So then we headed over to the Third Ward covered areas for a few rainy-day photos!
Continuing with the art theme, Kristin & David had their wedding ceremony at Redline Milwaukee, an incredible art gallery. Surrounded by family and friends, they had a ceremony that was filled with humor, honesty, and heart.
We made it back to the Milwaukee Public Market for their wedding reception just as the sun was setting behind the iconic Third Ward bridge. As we weaved in and out of the Milwaukee construction all day, we thought it was actually a very symbolic idea: life is a “construction zone,” with various outside circumstances that come to challenge our strength. Kristin and David maneuvered through the construction with class and beauty, hand in hand. They will continue to do this as husband and wife, now in the “construction zone of life.” (We know, pretty corny, but hey- it’s so true!) And in a few years, when the Milwaukee streetcar has become a part of everyday life, Kristin & David will be able to look back at a few of these pictures and remember the process it went through (and the cool images they got as a result). 🙂
The remainder of their night was filled with many beautiful moments with friends and family. With touching speeches & toasts and a killer dance party, it was the perfect ending to the #bastdayever!!!
