A Relaxed, Elevated New Year’s Eve Celebration in the Heart of Milwaukee

If you’re going to get married in the middle of winter, New Year’s Eve is kind of the perfect excuse to lean all the way in. Candlelight, champagne energy, cozy layers, and a little extra sparkle in the air. Tylee and Steven did exactly that with their winter wedding at The Historic Pritzlaff in Milwaukee.

With snow falling softly outside and warm light filling every space inside, their day felt relaxed and elevated in the best way. It was thoughtful without feeling overdone, joyful without being loud, and full of moments that mattered.

How They Met

Tylee and Steven met on a random Monday night in August of 2020 at a local bar. What started as sitting near each other and casual conversation turned into hours of talking, laughing, and playing bingo together. They always joke that they did not win bingo that night, but they walked away with something much better.

A few days later, Steven showed up for their first official date with flowers in hand. It was simple, natural, and easy, which would end up becoming the theme of their entire relationship.

The Proposal

Steven proposed during a trip to Europe that included Paris and Amsterdam, with plenty of planning help from Tylee’s family. After a full day of sightseeing and a bit of playful resistance about returning to the Eiffel Tower, Steven shared how meeting Tylee brought light into his life before getting down on one knee.

It was emotional, intentional, and completely unforgettable. The kind of proposal that feels true to who they are.

Favorite Moments from Their Historic Pritzlaff Wedding

Tylee and Steven’s New Year’s Eve wedding at The Historic Pritzlaff was filled with meaningful moments that unfolded naturally throughout the day.

  • A Ceremony with Deep Intention
Their ceremony took place in the Pritzlaff Courtyard, where each member of the wedding party carried an extra flower to place on a chair in honor of Tylee’s mom. It was a quiet, powerful tribute that set the tone for a day rooted in love and remembrance.
  • A Family Moment That Turned Into Something More
During the father daughter dance, what began as a sweet moment between Tylee and her dad turned into a shared dance with all four of his daughters. And (fun fact!) both Tylee’s family and Steven’s family are made up of one boy and four girls. How fun is that?!
  • Thoughtful Use of Space
One of the standout elements of the day was how they used the covered, heated patio at the Pritzlaff. Guests were able to step outside, feel the winter atmosphere, and still stay warm as snow fell softly in the background. It added so much to the overall experience and made the space feel dynamic and inviting.
  • The Celebration
Steven’s sister made all of the cupcakes, and they were just as incredible as they sound. Later in the night, Tylee surprised everyone with a dress change that perfectly matched the energy of the celebration. The evening felt joyful, unhurried, and full of genuine connection as everyone counted down toward the new year.

Tylee & Steven,
