My sister got married! 🙂 Laura found her perfect match in Tim, and they’re now happily married. Laura is my youngest sister, the littlest of 5 (she hit “youngest” status by a mere difference of 30 minutes, being twins with my brother Garret). She has always been the sweetest sibling in our family, and I don’t think the rest of us would argue that. 😉 To witness her journey of finding Tim and falling in love has been a bit of a dream come true for me. I believe many of our family and her friends could say the same. Tim came into her life and allowed her the freedom to grow & blossom into the best version of herself (and vice versa)! That might sound a bit cliche, but it’s also so very true. They match each other in their sense of humor, their kindness, and their quiet strength. We all knew their wedding day would be something to celebrate!
The wedding day itself was a beautiful blur. Since I was in the wedding, John took over almost everything on the photo side of the day. (Of course I picked up the camera a couple of times as well, but I really tried to stay “in the moment” as much as possible.) Most of the wedding was a labor of love from both families. The bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen’s vests were lovingly made by my mother. The ceremony itself took place at one of our most favorite places in the entire world: “The Lake.” The Lake is a family property from my mom’s side – a place we would excitedly travel to almost each and every weekend as kids. It holds so many memories for us all: as siblings, the many make-believe adventures; and for Laura, her many fishing trips with Dad and Grandpa. For all of these reasons and more, Laura always knew that when she got married, she would love to be married at The Lake. Laura and Tim created all of the benches for the ceremony, and many of the decorative flowers were gifts from our Aunt Deb. The ceremony was officiated by a long-time family friend of Laura’s. It may have been cold, but it was also perfectly passionate and personal.
With all of the late summer rains and flooding that came through the state, Laura & Tim’s original reception venue was flooded out. Although it was a bit of a shock, it was also amazing to see all of the friends and family surrounding Laura & Tim offer to help in any way they could. The reception, therefore, was a family effort. Tim’s family made the (delicious) cakes and provided the gorgeous lights for ambiance. Laura’s family cooked the food and kept everything running smoothly. (And it was the BEST dinner ever: smoked meats made by our Uncle Phil!) I could literally go on and on about the many people who helped to make everything perfect for Laura & Tim. They’re just the kind of people that you don’t mind doing anything for.
So I’m very excited to share a few favorites from Tim & Laura’s wedding day. It was perfect, just like the two of them together!
Beautiful pictures of a beautiful couple! Delighted to welcome Laura into the family!
