What a privilege it was for us to spend the day with fellow supporters of Before 16 at their annual golf outing at the Oaks Golf Course!  We (John and the two older boys) had a great time meeting so many giving and kind people at the outing.  We all felt quite fortunate to be at the outing because of the massive storms that had swept through Madison the night before causing flooding.

Before 16, founded by Dan Spransy (Realty Executives Cooper/Spransy), is a wonderful local Madison non-profit that assists families in the adoption process of Eastern European orphans.  Before 16‘s mission is to, “to advocate adoption of orphans before the age of 16 to give them a future and a hope.”  The organization helps orphans find families who are considering adoption by setting up a four week hosting process.   They strive to find homes for as many orphans as possible before the age of 16 and before they age out of their countries’ system.  To find out more information about this wonderful organization check out their website at www.before16.org.

Nate Haag, Foundation Coordinator, put on a very well organized outing which hosted over 80 golf entries.  Despite the windy and wet conditions, Dale Schaecterle‘s foursome shot an astounding -19 (52) to win the outing!  Andy Kurth‘s (Weed Man, Madison) foursome came in second with -17 (54).  There were also a lot of great raffle prizes donated by many local businesses–BONFYRE American Grille, Weed Man, Yola’s Cafe, Sky Zone Trampoline Park) and corporate sponsors (Realty Executives Wisconsin, Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation, Axley Attorneys, American Rotary Phase Converters).
