We are brimming with excitement over this Black Swan Milwaukee wedding! Jake and Stephanie planned their day perfectly, and the weather happened to be just as perfect as well! We are absolutely in love with Milwaukee’s Third Ward, and this Black Swan Milwaukee wedding was right in the heart of all the beauty! When Jake & Stephanie walked through the Black Swan to consider it as a wedding venue, it was bare-bones and just an idea at that point. They were one of the first people to put their trust in this venue, and that was mostly due to the fact that Jake has an eye for seeing potential in buildings (more about that later). But they both knew that this was exactly what they wanted for their wedding. (Let me tell you that it is absolutely gorgeous!)

Jake & Stephanie met in college. It was a year and a half of being friends before they started dating; but once they did, they both quickly knew their relationship was special. Everyone who spoke at their wedding had nothing but beautiful things to say about both of these two. The dads spoke of their work ethic, their ability to meet and excel in the midst of challenges, and how this has served them in life and will continue to serve them in their marriage. People said so many beautiful things about Stephanie & Jake, but the one word that stood out was determination. Determination. With everything they set out to do, they do it with all their heart and soul. Jake was a division 1 baseball athlete before a back injury encouraged him to pursue other avenues. After that, he returned to a childhood desire to be a police officer. That’s a job that requires not only stamina and dedication but a special attitude of service. (And remember how Jake has a super-power to see a bare-bones building’s potential? Well he flips homes in his spare time.) Yes, determination.

Stephanie, like Jake, was an all-state athlete and college volleyball player. She is now a nurse. It’s a job that she, like Jake, was born to do. Jake’s dad spoke of a time very early in their relationship when Jake had an accident that required a lot of recovery and assistance. Stephanie was there every step of the way. She stood by his side, happily and lovingly nursing him back to health. She is currently a nurse at Froedtert in the cancer center. Talk about two people who are servant-hearted individuals. Yes, determination. Their marriage will be no different. They’re better together. They are the half that makes the other whole. They’re the best of friends, and now they are husband and wife… setting out on their journey of marriage, determined to love each other forever.

We love every single moment we captured at Stephanie & Jake’s Black Swan Milwaukee wedding. But the things that we will remember most about their perfect day are the way Stephanie genuinely smiled at Jake ALL DAY LONG! We’ll also remember how Jake never grew tired of admiring, kissing, and praising Stephanie. These two are off to a great start, and we can’t wait to see their journey continue!
