I’m so excited to be sharing Ashley & Jason’s Lapham Peak Engagement session with you today! There is such a sweet story to go with these two cuties… with some humor added in there too! Ashley & Jason met in high school when Jason noticed Ashley in the hallway all wet because she had to walk to school. Being the gentleman he is, he offered to pick her up for school; and the rest is history! They’ve been meant for each other ever since.
I love the way they interact together – so comfortable, so sweet, so real. It’s everything we love about photographing couples in love! Jason decided to propose to Ashley on their trip to Nashville, Tennessee. They had a backstage tour of the Grand Ole Opry, and during the tour, each person had the opportunity to walk out on stage to get their picture taken. So it was Jason’s plan to propose to Ashley at that point. The problem was that he hid the ring box in his boot, so during the course of the evening, the box started digging into his leg to the point where it was making him bleed! He recalls how he was so nervous and in so much pain when it was finally time for them to go out on stage that he thought he might pass out… But he didn’t! He got down on one knee (Ashley was wondering what the heck he was doing on one knee when they were supposed to be posing for their picture), and asked her to marry him! Ashley said she doesn’t even remember what he said or what the rest of the tour was like – she only remembers saying YES!
Our evening together for their styled picnic was so much fun. I think I always say that, but I always mean it. I love my engagement session time with our wedding couples!! It just ends up being this evening filled with laughter and lots of love! It makes me so happy to be able to capture images like these ones – images that tell the story of love. Because with all that I’ve said above, I really didn’t need to write anything – it’s all written below in the faces of Ashley & Jason. They love each other, and they’re so excited to celebrate with friends & family on the day they say “I DO!”
Can’t wait to celebrate with you two! Looking forward to the wedding day!!! XOXO
