Leah and Hunter’s wedding at The Gibson Social Club felt relaxed and unhurried from the start, the kind of day where nothing was rushed because nothing needed to be. June in Oshkosh gave them warm weather and long evening light, but it was the pace of the day itself that stood out. There was no scramble, no packed-tight schedule working against them. Just Leah and Hunter, their families and friends enjoying every moment together.

From the very beginning, this wasn’t a day built around a checklist. It was built around the people in the room.

How Leah & Hunter Met

Leah and Hunter met at a small town Fireman’s Picnic in St. Cloud back in the summer of 2019. They had seen each other around before, but that night, friends pushed them together to dance, and they started talking. Neither of them remembers an official first date. The first time they hung out one on one was at Hunter’s parents’ house, watching movies. Leah was nervous to meet his family. Hunter just remembers it feeling normal, like they had already known each other a long time.

Their Door County Proposal Story

Hunter proposed in Door County, a place that had already become theirs through a handful of trips together. He’d been stressed about planning something Leah wouldn’t catch onto, so his sister stepped in to help, offering up a hotel weekend under the cover of a birthday trip. Hunter got dressed up early that day, hoping Leah would take the hint and do the same. She showed up in sweatpants. She changed.

His sister had gone ahead to decorate the room with rose petals, candles, and balloons, and was there to take photos when Leah walked in. Hunter knelt down, blanked on everything he’d planned to say, and just asked. She said yes.

Favorite Moments from Their Gibson Social Club Wedding

The reaction at the aisle. Leah and Hunter chose not to do a first look, so the first time they saw each other all day was the moment she started down the aisle. Nothing about it was staged. It was just the two of them, finally looking at each other, exactly the way they wanted the moment to happen.

The ring blessing. Parents and grandparents came forward during the ceremony to bless the rings, a decision that brought the whole family into a moment that’s usually just about the couple. It was one of several small, deliberate choices that shaped the day.

The sunset portraits. We scouted around The Gibson Social Club for the best light, and it worked out perfectly. A little patch of golden sun found us right on time, and the portraits from that stretch of the evening are some of our favorites from the whole day.

Being present, on purpose. More than any single photo, what stood out about Leah and Hunter’s day was how intentional they were with their time. They weren’t rushing from one photo op to the next. They were choosing, again and again, to slow down and actually be in the moments they’d planned.
