Alexandra & Maximilian

May Wedding Black Swan MKE

This May Wedding at Black Swan MKE is full of so many beautiful moments and memories for Alexandra and Maximilian! The weather was absolutely perfect, and every detail of their day was perfectly planned. From Alex and her girls riding The Hop to the wedding venue to Griffin the dog making his appearance, there were many moments to be captured.

Max and Alex are so sweet together. With both of them having families traveling from out of town (or out of state), they knew they wanted their wedding day to be a huge celebration. Their day was a great mixture of joy, laughter, energy, and emotion. They put together Their personal vows were meaningful and sentimental (with the perfect blend of humor mixed in there as well).

Alex and Max met through mutual friends when they both lived in Chicago. After a night of hanging out together, Max brought over dinner and cooked steaks for Alex. He left the plate of steaks on the counter and Alex’s dog, Griffin, hopped up and grabbed one for himself. As you’ll see in their wedding day images, Griffin is a huge part of their lives together. Alex knew right away that Max was special, but he continued to prove that to her by buying Griffin a Christmas present when they first started dating. 🙂

After dating for a while, Max took a job in Milwaukee, and Alex made the decision to come with him. When Alex’s parents came to visit from New Jersey, Max decided that this was his time!

“We were taking them to Lion’s Den, one of our favorite places to go walking. There is a spot on the bluffs that juts out over Lake Michigan and that’s where Max got down on one knee. No one knew he was planning on proposing. He had only even asked my dad for his permission the night before.”

Max’s surprise was perfectly planned, and from that moment, they started planning their perfect spring wedding here in Milwaukee.

We began the day at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Milwaukee. This is one of our favorite spaces in the city. We are head-0ver-heels in love with anything remotely historic, and this building just has it all. After the ladies were prepped and ready, they boarded The Hop to the Black Swan. Alex was one adventurous bride, and we loved that about her!

The men finished their day’s preparation at Alex & Max’s adorable home not too far away. Alongside Griffin the dog in his adorable tux and cufflinks, Max made his final preparations and headed to the Black Swan for the ceremony.

These two chose to see each other first at the aisle, and it was such an emotional reaction. We will never EVER tire of the emotion of these moments. It’s so beautiful in every possible way. We loved the way these two looked at each other as Alex and her dad walked down the aisle.

While there are so many more moments to recall and reminisce over, the pictures will finish telling their story. From the beautiful sunset photos in the Third Ward to the energetic dances later in the evening, Alex and Max’s May Wedding at the Black Swan MKE was lovely. Enjoy these favorites from their wedding day!
