Emily and Cole’s Madison wedding day took place at the Madison Public Library and the Memorial Union. These are two places that are iconically Madison in every way, and that’s exactly what they were going for when planning their wedding day.

Cole and Emily met in high school, and during their high school years, they became good friends. When they both went to UW-Madison for college, their friendship progressed into something more. On their wedding day, they both reminisced about their friendship-turned-love and how those early years spent as best friends were the perfect foundation for life-long love. We couldn’t agree more!

We just LOVE observing our couples on their wedding days. The little glances, the spark in their eyes, and the different smiles that they reserve just for each other, are some of the things we simply adore about being wedding photographers; and Emily and Cole were a perfect example of all of those things. From the moment they saw each other for the first time and continuing all through their ceremony and all through their celebrations, they were simply HAPPY. They had joy and satisfaction in being together and beginning this next step as husband and wife.

We loved the little touches they included in their wedding day. This ranged from the appearance of tulips in remembrance of Cole’s late mother to the adorable guest favors in honor of Emily & Cole’s cat and dog. Cole’s sister and brother-in-law did the officiating for the ceremony, which brought a beautiful personal touch to the entire day. In addition, Emily made a pin for Cole that included a cat and dog (again, representing their fur babies), and a token for his mother: written in her handwriting and kept close to his heart all day long. It was these things, and so many more, that made the day so meaningful.
