HEY, IT'S EMILY

Karen and Billy were so excited to get married. As I’m writing this blog post a couple weeks after their wedding, reflecting on their beautiful day, the excitement these two had is definitely the thing that stands out to me the most. Karen was all smiles when I met up with her as she was getting ready. Beautiful, bubbly, and joyful, she was ready to get married! Billy is one of the most tender-hearted people you’d have the pleasure of meeting, and he shed a few tears in anticipation (and celebration) of his wedding day. He couldn’t wait to marry his beautiful bride and celebrate alongside family and friends. The beautiful thing about our job as wedding photographers is being able to enter the inner circle of our clients’ families for a day. It was so clear to us both that Karen and Billy have amazing supportive families who love them both SO much.

Both Karen and Billy had beautiful moments with their parents. Karen’s dad was moved to tears when he saw his little girl for the first time, and I love the handkerchief Karen had embroidered for him! During his speech at the reception, he made a wonderful tribute to Karen and Billy’s love. Billy’s best man’s speech was also a great tribute to the kind of man Billy (and his dad) is. He recalled a moment that Billy had likely forgotten about (but one that has stuck with him throughout the many years of their friendship) when Billy was asked who he would want his life to look like. You know, the kind of question that most people answer with their favorite celebrity or historical figure. But Billy’s answer was different, and it was immediate. If he could shape his life after any other man, it would be his dad. That speech was incredibly moving (I had tears), and was a beautiful tribute to Billy’s character and the closeness of these two families.

Some of our favorite images from their wedding are the pictures of Billy and Karen at Menomonee Park. Not only is this park just strikingly gorgeous in general, but Billy’s grandparents had a history of coming here to take family pictures. This spot was really meaningful to them both for this reason, and we love the sweet, fun, and romantic pictures we were able to get at Menomonee Park. In summary, this wedding was one big celebration from start to finish! Congrats, Karen & Billy! Here are a few of our favorites~
