Lauren & David | Riviera Ballroom
This is by far the largest wedding blog post we’ve ever written. The moments from Lauren & David’s Riviera Ballroom Wedding were plentiful and gorgeous, and we have narrowed them down as much as we can (and there are still SO many favorites)! It was a warm and sunny day when we pulled into Lake Geneva for Lauren & Dave’s Riviera Ballroom wedding, but as bright and sun-shiny as it was, nobody outshone Lauren… not even the sun. She was a picture of steady calm, pure joy, and absolute beauty.
The day began at the beautiful Bella Vista Suites where both girls and guys were making final preparations for the big day. We loved the pure JOY from everyone involved! Parents, grandparents, friends – they were all just so joyous and celebratory. When everyone was ready, Lauren & David had their first look on the pier overlooking gorgeous Lake Geneva. Watching her and Dave see each other for the first time was a teary-eyed experience. Having dated since their freshman year in high school, they were overjoyed to be making this step into the journey of marriage.
The ceremony was beautiful. One of our favorite parts of Lauren & David’s Riviera Ballroom wedding day was the fact that Lauren’s Grandpa and Grandma filled the roles of Ring Bearer and Flower Girl. At all of our weddings, we’ve never seen anything more beautiful! The ceremony was filled with so many smiles and a few joyful tears; it was a beautiful thing to watch these two vow to love and honor each other. After the ceremony, guests were welcomed onto the Lady of the Lake for a cruise around Lake Geneva during their cocktail hour. It was incredible! Guests then returned to the beautiful Riviera for a delicious dinner overlooking the sunset over Lake Geneva.
Lauren & David had the kindest and funniest friends standing beside them on their wedding day, and both of their families were just as amazing. It is such a testimony to their individual character as well as their marriage that they had such people surrounding them. During wedding toasts, their parents spoke of their high school days. Lauren’s dad recalled the fear of letting his little girl start spending time with a BOY, probably the biggest fear every father has to face. He spoke of curfews and of his young daughter sneaking in past the midnight alarm clock a few minutes late to find Dad waiting there for an explanation. David’s mom shared how David’s late father thought Lauren was a beauty inside and out; and David’s best man spoke of his father’s influence in Dave’s life and encouragement to, “Keep your moral compass true North.” That phrase will stay with us. It speaks volumes.
The remainder of the evening was spent in celebration. We grabbed Lauren & Dave for a few sunset shots over Lake Geneva, and these have easily become some of our absolute favorite pictures. The dessert table was epic, as was the dance party that followed. Lauren & David’s Riviera Ballroom wedding was a glorious day filled with so, so, SO much love everywhere. Congrats to the newlyweds, who are now off on an adventure of a lifetime (marriage, yes; but I’m referring to their 5-month travels in Europe)!
Lauren & Dave, John and I can’t express what an amazing time we had celebrating alongside you both as you stepped into this journey of marriage. We are so excited to follow your journey (we’ll follow your Europe journey & live vicariously through you!), and we will be cheering on your marriage as well!
