Romantic Milwaukee Wedding | Michelle & Connor - The McNiels Photography and Films

Michelle and Connor had a perfectly romantic Milwaukee wedding celebrating with their family and friends at the Church of the Gesu and The Pfister Hotel. From the beginning of the day, Michelle was full of joy. She alone was a source of light all day long. Both she and Connor are the epitome of grateful, thankful, generous-hearted people. I lost count of the times they genuinely thanked those around them, and that’s one thing I will remember every time I look back at these pictures. Grateful. Gracious. Genuine. Even when Michelle would ask a bridesmaid to help her get something or do something, she would always end the request with, “Is that okay? I don’t want to be that kind of bride.” I had to laugh a little when she said that, because I don’t think she would have had it in her if she tried.

Michelle and Connor met one night at Marquette University, where they both attended college. (As you can see from their engagement session, they LOVE their Marquette Golden Eagles!) Connor had stayed in studying for an accounting exam when Michelle arrived at his house with several of their mutual friends. They obviously hit it off. 🙂 Their first date was at a Mexican restaurant where they found a shared sense of humor (and Michelle conveniently forgot her wallet). 😉 He remembers that he knew she was incredibly special on one of their hikes in Sedona:

“We found this hidden spot with an amazing view, and I realized that she was the one I wanted to be there with.”

He proposed to Michelle overlooking the lake at Juneau Park, and the rest is history! 🙂 Okay, no… actually the rest is HERE in these pictures!

Their romantic Milwaukee wedding day was absolute perfection, from start to finish! The girls prepared for the big day at The Pfister Hotel (a personal new favorite venue which did not disappoint in romance, history, and class). We absolutely LOVED being able to shoot at Marquette University’s Church of the Gesu (and around the gorgeous campus as well). The hints of spring were everywhere: tulips and daffodils scattered the landscaping, and spring blossoms graced a few special trees. We stopped by Veteran’s Park for a few extra shots of the wedding party, and of course had to get a quick photo at the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Back at The Pfister Hotel, we stole away Michelle & Connor to take advantage of the amazing beauty that can be found anywhere and everywhere in that historic hotel. The history of Milwaukee is one of my favorite things about photographing weddings there; it makes me nostalgic thinking about The Pfister Hotel being a part of this city over a hundred years ago at it’s infancy… amazing! When it came time for speeches, Michelle & Connor shared tears and lots of laughs from the friends and family who shared sentiments and memories. Yet Connor’s thank you speech right before their first dance was my personal favorite. After thanking their parents and families, he turned to Michelle and thanked her for agreeing to be his bride. It was genuine and beautiful, and the few tears that stole from Michelle’s eyes were a testament to that.

Of course the rest of the evening was spent dancing, chatting, and eating awesome food (all wonderful parts of the wedding day celebration). 🙂 So without further adieu, here are our favorites from Michelle and Connor’s Romantic Milwaukee Wedding day! Enjoy!
