Abby & Kyle | Elegant Milwaukee Wedding

Abby and Kyle’s elegant Milwaukee wedding at St. James 1868 was one for the books. These two are all elegance and grace (with a generous dose of joy sprinkled on top). ???? They were amazing to be with on their wedding day as we watched them soak up every moment with each other, with friends, and with family.

Abby and Kyle met at a work internship. They were volunteering at a golf outing, and both of them left work that day excited to see each other again. They had their first date a couple of weeks later! It was all fun and games until Abby realized that this “summer fling” was actually a whole lot more, and she couldn’t imagine life without Kyle. From there it was 4-hour drives every weekend to visit each other at college. And the rest is history.

The Proposal (Abby’s Version):

Kyle planned a surprise ski trip to Vail the week before Christmas. He told me about the trip a few days before, and I had a good feeling about what was to come. A couple days into the trip Kyle told me we were walking to breakfast. The walk was along a snow-covered creek and I started questioning what type of restaurant would be out there. As soon as I said it, we turned a corner to come across a covered bridge with rose petals sprinkled in front of it.

The Proposal (Kyle’s Version):

A lot of work went into wanting to make this special. After having found the photographer and talking through the plan, I think I studied the maps and placement about 1,000 times prior to the trip and thought about how to convince Abby we were going for a walk to breakfast. The morning of I could tell Abby didn’t realize what was about to happen, but internally, I was a nervous wreck. During the walk to the location, the nerves made me shaky, but I could use the weather to play it off as being cold. The proposal itself was a blur and I can’t remember what I said, but all that mattered was that she said yes.

Abby and Kyle are effortless together. There’s a calm energy between them. They just love each other – love being together. And that was so evident on their wedding day.

A few of our favorite moments to look for in the images below: (1) The father of the bride’s *perfect* reaction to seeing Abby in her dress, (2) that emotional walk down the aisle, (3) the effortless elegance of Abby in her bridal beauty, (4) the joy, emotion, and celebration that lasted throughout the evening. Enjoy this peek at Abby and Kyle’s elegant Milwaukee wedding at St. James 1868.
