Jessica & Patrick

Jessica & Patrick’s Winter Rooftop Wedding at The Atrium, Milwaukee

This wedding day was one of the most unique days we have been a part of. From start to finish, Jessica and Patrick made sure that the day reflected everything that was meaningful to them. We loved their enthusiasm and creativity. From a winter rooftop ceremony to a wine bottle guestbook (you have to check that out below), this day was filled with joy, laughter, and so much fun!

How Jessica & Patrick Met

Jess & Patrick met at work. As the story goes, on the day they met, Patrick had an emergency dentist visit and wasn’t feeling so great. It was Jessica’s first day on the job, and before she even met Patrick, she was told by a coworker that they would probably get married. While neither of them was quite convinced on that first day, their friendship grew and developed into something special, and it wasn’t long before they both knew where this was headed.

The Engagement

Jess’ best friend was in town (her MOH). I used Julia being in town as a distraction and completely throw Jess off the trail. I had her custom ring made a few months before, and the jeweler finished early, making me throw my plans together on a much tighter timeline (because I could not keep a ring in the house for very long without Jess finding it).

We went to dinner and Julia almost gave it away because was so excited and worried about ruining the surprise that she barely spoke to Jess the entire day. After dinner, we went to our favorite candle bar in Walker’s Point, Glassnote, where I had coordinated with the team there to give her a custom label asking her to marry me. We were the last table there, and the owners and their wives were at another table in the corner (unbeknownst to us). When our candles were done and our waitress handed Jess the candle, she was so distracted by the ring sitting on the wick that she didn’t quite realize what was happening.

After the owners started cheering rather loudly, I got down on one knee and Jess figured out what was happening. She promptly grabbed the ring and tackled me to the ground saying yes, of course, I’ll marry you! We then went to our favorite dive bar, Zad’s, to celebrate!

Their Stunning Winter Rooftop Wedding at The Atrium

We could go on and on about how much we loved this day. The winter rooftop ceremony was so unique and beautiful. Fresh snow had graced Milwaukee that week, and the sun was shining. With a champagne toast, they sealed the deal and celebrated the night away!

These vendors made their day spectacular –

Venue: The Atrium
Wedding coordinator: Heather Farr Events
Flowers: By the mother of the bride
DJ: Sound by Design
Catering: Zilli Hospitality

Our favorite things: We loved the custom cocktail napkins they included! They gave guests five fun facts about themselves. And we especially loved their wine bottle guestbook! At each table, they placed an unopened bottle of wine with a marker. Guests were encouraged to sign the bottle. Jess & Patrick plan to open those bottles in the months and years to come. What a fun way to continually celebrate your marriage (and include your favorite people while doing so)!
