Abigail had a vision for the flowers and colors of her wedding from the beginning, and seeing it all come together at Heidel House was such a treat. Their October 3 wedding had all the best of autumn, with blue skies, blue water, a cool breeze, and sunshine that stayed with us throughout the day.
And Abby and Cody? They were having the best time together. We laughed our way through the day with these two, watching them enjoy each other and every moment with their favorite people.

Abby and Cody knew where they wanted to see each other for the first time: on the dock, right in front of the water. With Green Lake behind them and all that sunshine, it was a beautiful spot for their first look. We loved that they chose a place that brought them close to the water. Spending time at the lake is already something they love doing together, and now they have this memory there, too.
Their wedding morning led into a day full of the things they’d told us mattered most: being together, having their loved ones in one place, and leaving plenty of room for laughter.

The flowers and color palette were especially important to Abigail, and they deserve a moment of their own. The arrangements from Branching Out & Company brought so much autumn color into the day. Against the blue of the lake and sky, everything came together beautifully.
Liz Wolf Dixon with Dream Weddings helped bring the celebration together at Heidel House, where Abby and Cody could get ready, marry, and celebrate in one place. And then there was Georgia.
Their dog had the very important job of flower girl, and she wowed us all. Abby and Cody had mentioned Georgia throughout their questionnaire, from walks and trips to the park to quiet nights at home. Of course she belonged in their wedding day, too. We were very happy to see her get her moment!

Before the wedding, we asked Abby and Cody what they wanted their photographs to reflect. Abby talked about laughter, her love of dad jokes, and wanting pictures where you could almost hear the laugh behind the smile. Cody put it simply: “That we are rarely serious and we have fun, right?” We got to see exactly what they meant.
These two love having a good time with each other, and that made them so much fun to photograph. There was plenty of romance throughout the day, but there was also the familiarity of two best friends who know how to make each other laugh. We loved watching them live up each moment together.
When they described what they were most looking forward to, their answer was having their loved ones all together to celebrate, dance, and enjoy the time. That excitement carried through the day. Between the setting, the sunshine, Georgia, and the people gathered around them, there was so much to enjoy.

Heidel House sits along the shore of Green Lake, Wisconsin, with lakefront ceremony settings and indoor reception spaces. For couples who love being near the water, it’s a beautiful place to bring everyone together.
For Abby and Cody, the lake was part of the experience from their first look onward. The dock gave them the waterfront spot they’d hoped for, and the clear October weather let us enjoy the setting with them. We’ve photographed some lovely celebrations here, and we love seeing how each couple makes the same place their own. Abby and Cody brought autumn color, so much laughter, and one unforgettable flower girl.

Thank you for letting us spend this day with you. We loved your flowers, your lakefront first look, and getting to meet Georgia, but laughing alongside you two is what we’ll remember most. We’re so happy for you both. Here’s to more lake days, game nights, and finding new ways to make each other laugh. 🤍
