As we shared in one of our last personal posts, we recently sold our first home and spent quite a bit of time in an “in-between” stage in life (a season where you’re not exactly sure where you’re going, but you’re hoping to get there soon)! On Christmas morning, right after we closed on our NEW home (more about that soon), we woke up to a huge bag of secret presents outside the house. Inside were toys and toys for all of the kids, along with a gift card to Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan! We recently took advantage of that generous gift and spent a glorious 24-hour vacation at the Blue Harbor.
John grew up in Sheboygan, so almost every year he makes a point to go back to “his roots.” His brain thrives on anything geographical (I call him Mr. Geography), so I think he loves the challenge of remembering the roads and locations where his earliest memories are. This made it extra sweet that we were able to come to Sheboygan, and it was also great timing because I just turned 33! We took twenty-four hours away from the regular hustle and bustle of our normal life to celebrate with swimming, Food Network on a hotel TV, family arcade games, mini golf, and simply being together (which is our favorite thing to do!).
Here are a few of the highlights from our mini vacation. (We still have no idea who gave us that gift; but if you’re reading this, know that we are incredibly grateful!)
