Rachel & Tyler’s South Second Milwaukee wedding was a typical April day: a little chilly with a little bit of drizzle. Wisconsin weddings have a funny way of making you wonder what weather each day will come up with. Whether your wedding be in April, July, or September, one of the things we Wisconsinites love and hate about this great state is it’s uncanny weather. But while the skies may have been cloudy, drizzling, and even a little chilly, Rachel & Tyler’s South Second Milwaukee wedding was everything but! These two made the most of every moment of their wedding day, enjoying their friends, family, and each other.
We began at Rachel & Tyler’s church where the ladies were busily getting ready and the gentlemen were enjoying a few quiet minutes before the bustle of the day. Rachel’s dress was unbelievably beautiful, and the simple spring flowers she chose for her bridesmaids and herself were stunning and perfect. My favorite moment of the morning was when Rachel was all finished getting ready. We took a minute to grab a few bridal portraits, and I asked her, “Are you ready to marry this guy?” Without a moment’s hesitation, her face blossomed into the most beautiful, most genuine smile; and her words were strong and steady: “Yes. I am.” And they were. They were so ready to get married, to celebrate with friends and family, and to start their official life together as husband and wife. Tyler was just waiting for the clock to move to ceremony time. He was steady and sure, just like Rachel… just excited and so ready to marry his best friend.
After the beautiful ceremony, the rain began. Thankfully Rachel and Ty knew they wanted to stop by The Iron Horse Hotel for a few bridal party portraits, so we had a great place to escape the drizzle. (Golly, we love that venue so much!!) John (who I endearingly refer to as my Mr. Geography) had scouted out a great photo spot covered by the bridge, and this bridal party was nothing short of amazing with their adventurous spirit! (I’d say the photographs are worth it, thanks y’all!!) 🙂 Following this we headed to the Third Ward, warmed up a little bit, and then took a few more pictures around that area. One amazing thing about Milwaukee is that it offers a few nice overhangs in the event of rain. We certainly appreciated that on Saturday; and we’re so thankful for Rachel & Tyler (and their amazing wedding party) who came up with great ideas and were up for anything!
The South Second Milwaukee wedding venue that Rachel & Tyler chose was beautiful! It was open and spacious with a welcoming, family feel. The dinner by Saz’ Hospitality group was family style (and delicious!), and we loved the special touches that these two added to their day (um… pies?! Yes please!!). So much of their wedding was created with others in mind. These two indeed are so loving and giving, and that was evident throughout their entire wedding day. Even during dinner, they had a plan to give back: roll the die to see if either (A) Rachel & Tyler had to kiss, (B) the roller of the die had to kiss, or (C) the roller of the die had to donate to Best Buddies (where Rachel works)!
Of course the biggest shout out goes to Rachel and Tyler themselves! After enjoying a fabulous dinner by Saz’ Hospitality at South Second, they trekked in the (almost) pouring rain to get some amazing night shots. Not only that, but these two were so calm and steady all day long. They made their April wedding day fun and enjoyable, and we’re so thrilled to be able to show off a few of our favorite pictures from their South Second Milwaukee Wedding day! Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs. Mueller! We loved spending the day with you two, and we’re so excited for your journey to continue as husband and wife!
